Inspiring Story of Abhi and Niyu, India’s Most Impactful Content Creators

Abhiraj and Niyati, popularly known as Abhi and Niyu, are a husband-wife couple creating content to talk about positive and impactful ideas to change the way people think about our society. They make videos in different genres like environment, economics, social issues, policy discussions, personal finance, history, geopolitics, and many more where they try to decode and simplify for everyone.

Raise your hands if you’ve ever seen a random stranger belittle and make demoralising comments about our country on the internet. I think I do see quite a share of hands. May it be a total stranger who knows absolutely nothing about India, they still find a way to criticise as if they know what India is all about. I think we’ve all been there. 

Abhi and Niyu, whose quest revolves around eradicating the negative stereotypes associated with our country and to make people see our home the way it’s really meant to be seen. They say, “We are a married couple on a mission to make India a positive place to live in. We plan to do it by making solution-oriented videos about things that matter”.

Early Life and Educational Background

Abhiraj Rajadhyaksha was born on 6th September 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from R.D. National College, Mumbai, with a specialisation in Advertising. He also has a diploma in Filmmaking from FX School, Mumbai.

Niyati Mavinkurve was born on 18th December 1990 in Mumbai as well. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is an accomplished Chartered Accountant (CA). She also used to work as a freelance writer.

Content Creation Journey

Everyone wants a place void of negativity. Hence, Abhi and Niyu had a mission of creating a platform that made people’s smiles a little wider and brighter; and so, their content creation journey started with the intent of making the internet a positive place for everyone. They wanted to make a positive impact on the world with their action-oriented content. 

Back in 2018, they both were earning a decent amount of money from their jobs but they lacked the job satisfaction for which they were craving. “As human beings, we need growth, something that pushes us forward, pushes us to do something better,” said Abhi.

He also added, “We didn’t want to be slaves of a system, we wanted to decide on our own path.” Hence, in 2019, they embarked upon their positive and wholesome content creation journey with the series- 100 reasons to love India.

They started with the goal of associating India with positivity and wholesomeness, and now they create well-researched, informative, and awareness-inducing content about socio-economic issues happening in India and the world.

100 Reasons to Love India

Back in 2019, they started a series on YouTube called 100 Reasons to Love India, where they traveled to different parts of India and also served us with unique informational content about the place and the people there.

Talking to influential people all over India, getting to know them and what they do for the world, and visiting alluring places that they did. They traveled for over 200 days to narrate the greatest stories about the hidden gems of India. 

The inspiration behind this series: They were just scrolling down their news feed and came across a lot of negative news and stories about India, and that’s when they felt the need to bring out the pleasurable side of India. This is when their full-time content creation journey began!

Dealing with Self-doubt

Insecurity and self-doubt are a part of a content creator’s life,” says Abhi. Around 3 years ago in 2019, he was in an unhealthy state of mind. He knew he had to break free from his then-existing career and do something he was truly passionate about, and that’s when ‘100 Reasons to Love India’ came to his mind.

We were starting something entirely new, and both of us had a lot of doubts and hesitations. With every video, we kept learning something new and kept improving. Even then, sometimes we don’t find satisfactory content and we feel stuck” he says. But the love and support of their viewers always make them feel like their struggles are completely worth it.

Success Story of Abhi and Niyu

Their YouTube channel Abhi and Niyu has 5.22 Million subscribers as of December 2023, and their Instagram account which is called @abhiandniyu has 2.7 Million followers as opposed to just 3,275 followers that they had back in 2019.

They’ve also been mentioned in Forbes 30 under 30, and have been titled ‘Most Impactful Influencer of the Year 2020’. But the most important thing they’ve achieved is no doubt their positive influence on the world.

Abhi and Niyu Love Story

Back in 2010, when Abhi was in 12th grade and Niyu was in TYB.com, they were part of the Rotaract club of NM college and that’s where they first met. She said, and I quote, “He was tall, dark and brooding, and handsome”. And she really wanted to get to know him better as something about him really pulled her towards him and she didn’t know what.

Whereas Abhi says that he loved her work ethic and the way she was always a good person. Isn’t that adorable? On 14th December 2010, he realised that he loved her and the rest is history.

Abhiraj and Niyati both really believe in the power of knowledge. They say that one should always strive to achieve knowledge even after receiving your degree. “Invest in your knowledge, so that your learning never ends at a full stop.

Their journey is seriously inspirational and exciting and the level of optimism encompassing their content never fails to put a smile on our faces.
