India’s largest brokerage firm, Zerodha has launched a new YouTube channel named ‘Zing! By Zerodha‘ to educate newbie stock traders and to curb financial misselling and misinformation on social media.
The financial education channel launched in partnership with LearnApp, a leading online course platform around trading and investing, will create financial content with extensive research and fun storytelling.
UPDATE: The YouTube channel ‘Zing! by Zerodha‘ has now been renamed to ‘Zero1 by Zerodha‘.
Zerodha has been in the financial education landscape since 2014 with Varsity being the largest openly accessible financial education courseware on the stock market. Now they’re trying to curb financial misinformation and misselling by finfluencers, which has been rapidly rising with the surge of social media.
“With research, a focus on lessons via fun storytelling and a dash of Zing!, we hope to build a fun repository of meaningful lessons for everything related to money, finance, and investing,” said Zerodha in its official announcement.
‘Zing! By Zerodha‘ will have two series as of now, the ‘De-influencing‘ series to explore the popular notions of money-making and the ‘Trading Psychology‘ to educate newbie traders learn the psychology of stock trading.
Sharing the first video of the De-influencing series, Nithin Kamath, founder and CEO of Zerodha tweeted, “We’re launching a new YouTube channel called Zing! by Zerodha in partnership with @PrateekLearnapp and @LearnappHQ where we make finance a little more fun.“
Right from day 1 of @zerodhaonline, we've spent a significant amount of time and effort to educate people about finance through @ZerodhaVarsity, Z-Connect, @tradingqna, etc. Since video was becoming the dominant way people consumed information, we also launched Varsity videos.… pic.twitter.com/ChQFAq2pmV
