Loom Solar Startup Success Story

Loom Solar is an Indian solar-tech company founded by Amod Anand and Amol Anand in 2018. Headquartered in Faridabad, Haryana, it largely manufactures highly efficient solar panels with the main objective of significantly reducing pollution and environmental hazards and providing each and every Indian household with their own solar panel system to reduce electricity bills.

So far, Loom Solar has its presence in 500 cities through 3,500 retail stores and has been able to power more than 50,000 homes.

The Need for Solar Energy

Conventional sources of energy are limited in nature and cause a tremendous amount of pollution including acid rain, air pollution and greenhouse gases. As we strive to move towards a zero-carbon planet, utilizing the right kind of renewable energy that is pleasant for the environment is crucial.

Solar energy is said to have the least amount of negative impact on the environment and is the safest and cleanest of all sources. Using the inexhaustible energy of the sun to power your houses ensures that no greenhouse gas emissions are released into the air.

Another massive advantage of using solar power systems is that it saves you a wild amount of money. Prepare yourself to be surprised after taking a look at your electricity bill when you switch to solar power as your main source of energy.

However, there sure are downfalls to solar power— the soaring cost to have access to an efficient solar panel system. On top of that, not many Indian households have the knowledge nor the sufficient resources to have access to such type of technology and there is a lack of efficient solar panels in India. This is where Loom Solar jumps to the rescue.

What Loom Solar Offers?

Loom Solar offers a variety of cost-effective and extremely powerful and efficient solar panels, solar inverters as well as lithium batteries. Loan facilities are also made available for your relief.

It manufactures monocrystalline solar panels which are said to have the highest efficiency rates and have a significant advantage over microcrystalline or polycrystalline solar panels.

Monocrystalline panels produce more power per square foot, making them space-efficient. They have the capacity to produce more electricity while taking up less area.

Drawing energy in low-sunlight conditions is a challenge for the majority of solar panels available in the market and Loom Solar is able to solve this issue with the help of monocrystalline panels that are able to draw maximum amounts of energy even in areas with low sunlight.

In addition to this, installing solar panels on your rooftop has never been easier with the help of Loom Solar. You can easily book an engineer visit and they will assist you with everything from analysing the structure and location of your roof to the impact of weather conditions in your area on the solar panels, and so much more.

Loom Solar Startup Story

Amol Anand and Amod Anand are siblings who both have an MBA degree in Marketing from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.

Amol used to work at a company named Luminous Power Technologies Ltd. He was the Product Manager of solar products and ironically, he had little to no knowledge about it. He was confused as to why solar products were the ‘future of the world’ as he’d never seen anyone use them in his entire life.

After travelling to various parts of India and doing extensive research, he realised the validity behind the statement and instantly knew that he had to do something about it. He immediately quit his job and started working on building solar panels along with his brother and other team members.

Unless you put yourself in uncomfortable situations, you are never going to be able to work on new ideas,” says Amol. “If you don’t go through adversities, how will you be able to create a better life?” he adds.

Since the launch of Loom Solar, they have received multiple awards and recognitions for the remarkable work that they have put into Loom Solar. The company was awarded ‘Energy Business of the Year’ during the 10th edition of the Small Business Congress & Awards 2021 organized by Franchise India.

It was also awarded Fastest Growing Startup by Amazon, Energy Business of the Year in February 2021, and Startup of the Year in September 2021. The company also won an award at the Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards held in the United States of America in 2019.

The Way Forward

Amol and Amod both have big plans for the near future and are working on becoming the most popular and trusted brand by 2025. They’re aiming at improving their product portfolio by introducing new technology and innovations and are targeting a turnover of Rs. 1000 Cr. by 2025.
